Bundi

Bundi is an incredibly beautiful city nestled between Jaipur and Udaipur, two of the most popular tourist cities in Rajasthan. For those looking to explore Rajasthan’s natural beauty and heritage away from the glare and attention of the major tourist destinations, Bundi offers a unique charm with plenty of delightful spots to explore.

The city is home to a placid man-made lake as well as a fairytale palace that is located on the foothills of the mountain. The small and quaint city was once the glory of the Rajputs and the people here are extremely proud of their heritage as the city was never subjected to British rule.

2. Hadoti

If you love art and are interested in India’s ancient artistic culture, Hadoti is the place for you.

The place is home to some of the most majestic archaeological wonders. There are beautiful temples at every nook and corner of Hadoti and each of the temples has its own unique historical significance. The best time to visit Hadoti is during the festivals when the entire region comes alive reflecting its vibrant culture and traditions. You can also head to the water bodies and thick wetlands of the region to watch migratory birds from China and Europe who come here during the winter season.

3. Shekhawati

Shekhawati is best known for its majestic Havelis that feature magnificent fresco paintings. The themes in these paintings include religion, folk mythology, history, erotica as well as classical decorative themes, including architectural features and geometric patterns.

But the major attraction in the region is the ‘bawdi’ (well’s steps). Once constructed for storing rainfall from the monsoon seasons, the bawdis are today considered marvels of this era’s architecture.

Along with ‘bawdis’ and murals, Fatehpur town in this region is known for the Dwarkadheesh Temple and the Nadine Le Prince Cultural Centre.

4.
