The Zanskar river freezes and becomes the venue for the famous Chadar Frozen River Trek. It is an incredibly difficult terrain for trekkers due to cold temperatures and heavy snow. Adventure sports in the region include skiing, heli-skiing, ice-skating and snowboarding. In fact, Gulmarg is Asia&#8217;s only Heli-skiing place. Annual events you can witness (or even take part in) include Alpine skiing, Cross country skiing, Biathlon and Ice-skating.<\/p>\n<h3><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Rajasthan\"><\/span><strong>Rajasthan<\/strong><span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n<p>Winters are the best time to visit Rajasthan. The weather permits you to be outdoors all day to explore the monuments, the local culture, and you can be indoors at night when the desert chill sets in.<\/p>\n<h3><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Mussouri\"><\/span><strong>Mussouri<\/strong><span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n<p>Mussoorie, the &#8216;Queen of Hills&#8217;, is not only a getaway for those seeking to escape city life, but is also a great place for adventure activities. There is so much to do that it\u2019ll keep you busy for at least a week. For example, its Gun Hill offers a ropeway ride where you get a stunning panoramic view of the Himalayan ranges. You can picnic at the Municipal Garden near the artificial mini lake and even go boating. Or trek up to Kempty Fall and take a horseback ride on the way back! There are small waterfalls like Bhatta and Jharipani where you can sit in the water for hours! The recently set up Mussoorie Lake is another picnic and boating hotspot<\/p>\n<h3><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Goa\"><\/span><strong>Goa<\/strong><span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n<p>The best time to visit Goa is the winter season, but be warned &#8211; you&#8217;ll be facing tens of thousands of fellow New Year\u2019s travellers. Therefore it&#8217;s better to either find isolated beaches, or go a little earlier (or later), during the off season. Manali is well known for its skiing destinations. There are a lot of adventure activities to explore. Along with traditional winter activities like skiing, there&#8217;s also fishing, white water rafting, paragliding, mountaineering, and hiking to explore.
